|Write To Your Lord!

The extreme porn bill is currently being debated in the House of Lords. The law passed through the third reading of the House of Commons without time for debate, but is receiving criticism in the Lords. |There are proposed amendments that would basically restrict the law to actual acts, and allow a defence that they "reasonably believe that no person portrayed in the image was made to act against their will". Update: Two amendments are proposed, by Lord Wallace Of Tankerness, Baroness Miller Of Chilthorne Domer and Lord Mcintosh Of Haringey, either to remove the clauses altogether, or to restrict it to images that are both images of actual sexual offences and that would be illegal to publish under the Obscene Publications Act.
Now is the time to lobby the Lords, either to support these amendments (otherwise they will just be voted down), or to propose additional amendments against the Government plans (e.g., an exemption for acts between consenting adults). A list of Lords is available here at TheyWorkForYou (it's easy to send a message via WriteToThem.com by clicking on the name, or see here for other contact details). There is also a list of email addresses.
http://www.theyworkforyou.com allows you to search all speeches for particular keywords, to find Lords who might have an interest - but even just writing to Lords at random is encouraged, in order to target as many Lords as possible.
